cit_00039 Augustinus, Aurelius: Si enim fallor, sum
 |
Text |
Nulla in his uerisᶜ Academicorū argumēta formido , dicentiū: Quid ſi
falleris?ᵈ Si enim fallor, ſum. Nã qui nõ eſt,
utiqꝫ nec falli poteſt , ac ꝑ hoc ſum, ſi fallor.
quia ergo ſum qui fallor, quomodo eſſe me
fallor , quando certum eſt eſſe me ſi fallor? |
Translation | In respect of these truths, I fear not the arguments of the Academics, who say: 'What if you are deceived?' For if I am deceived, I am. For he who does not exist cannot be deceived; and by this very fact I am, if I am deceived. Since, therefore, I exist if I am deceived, how can I be deceived in believing that I exist, when it is certain that I exist if I am deceived? |
