(35) Principio, quod amare velis, reperire labora,
qui nova nunc primum miles in arma venis;
(37) proximus huic labor est placitam exorare puellam;
tertius, ut longo tempore duret amor.

Translation

(35) In the beginning work on finding what you want to love,
now that you soldier are for the first time in new weapons.
(37) the next work is to soften the girl you like by entreaties;
the third, that love may endure for a long time.
